TED VIDEO / BOOK / WHITEPAPER: Leading Continuous Change
Updated: May 1, 2020
After a recent conversation with Bill Pasmore at CCL, it struck me that his new book's subtitle: Navigating Churn in the Real World keenly captures the experience many of us have lived through this year—and perhaps the most critical capability required for leaders in 2017.
In the CCL whitepaper It’s a New Game: Leading Complex, Continuous Change (PDF), Bill introduces key ideas for leading complex, continuous change, based on the experiences of leaders across a wide range of industries and geographies, drawn from his book.
Continuing the theme of world of constant change, a Boston Consulting Group TED talk from May of this year, Jim Hemerling, Organizational change expert, spoke on 5 ways to lead in an era of constant change (video at ted.com). Hemerling believes adapting your business in today's constantly-evolving world can be invigorating instead of exhausting. He outlines 5 imperatives, centered around putting people first, for turning company reorganization into an empowering, energizing task for all.
